How I Started
Acting
When I was 5 years old, a book asked me to fill in the blank: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I wrote something so seemingly simple: "Kevin."
In the beginning, I began acting from a very young age, doing comedy impersonations of Pee Wee Herman at age 6-7 with my sister. We would re-enact a specific scene together, and I would act and speak the lines of Pee Wee in my best impression.
Ever since then, it's not necessarily that I want to make people laugh, like probably most comedians. It's deeper than that. It's that I just need to be myself, and whether or not people laugh is besides the point, but it's always icing on the cake if they do.

It's been a long journey with turns, dark roads, and psychological roadblocks of all kinds. My journey as an artist and actor was first renewed as an adult in 2008, when I discovered the simple act of moving the body, and avant-garde dance performance art. I first studied Butoh Ritual Dance under Mizu Desierto. Then, I studied with Diego Pinon, a world renowned Mexican Butoh artist. I performed my own one man show style of Stand Up Comedy, a blend of heavy physical comedy, comedic characters, and surrealism. Looking back at my past and current works, I consider now that I've always been a surrealist when I am in control of the art piece. I refrain from "serving up" the comedy, and instead always hold true to my characters, trusting that both I and the audience will find a lot more value than if I "try to be funny." For me personally, comedy is a fine line between absurdity and humanity, relatable truth and the surreal. In other words, my greatest strength is that I am a character actor, becoming someone else entirely and especially in front of a camera. This is where I come to life, and it's truly what I love more than anything.

Oddball
I currently have a passion as a Youtuber. It all started in 2009, just after graduating Prescott College. I began producing and acting as a one man show in my own short film scenes or sketch comedy pieces. I did this for about one year, on a very outdated and old channel @misterkevincochran (which I lost complete access to). What happened after that year was that I needed a lot of healing, and resolution of personal issues. But on this channel, @misterkevincochran, there are some noteworthy scenes of acting, improvisation, and comedic performance, especially the two "Kevin Cochran Comedy Chess Matches," between characters of a "wealthy Englishman" and a backwards hat-wearing "super cool" guy who likes to just have fun.
My current main channel, started in 2024, is "Audio Oddball" on Youtube (@audiooddball), which focuses more on song parodies than original one man show comedy sketches. The song parodies were written and produced alone, from scratch. I then filmed myself completely alone, (in all parodies and skits except for only two of them), and I feel I have demonstrated a very wide range of characters, ability, and comedic capacity on this channel. In addition, I have recently started a new channel, "Audio Oddball Skits," (@comedyprison), started in 2025, which showcases an updated version of my one man show and one man production comedy skits.
In 2022, I graduated a half year program with RRFC for Audio Engineering and Music Production, and then I began producing my own music. I produced an 8 song serious album (Microphone and Mahogany), and then I began writing comedic song parodies. I had such a passion for recording my own music, that I didn't want to just sample other songs and then lay over the vocals. I wanted to make these song parodies come to life, and make an entirely new and original recording or version of the famous original song. For instance, I produced a Nirvana parody of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" all from scratch. I miked and played drums, guitar, bass, and did my own vocals with new lyrics. I mixed and mastered it on Pro Tools. Then I filmed it (a friend helped film that one for me). For me, it was about embodying a parody version of Kurt Cobain, and making it really real for myself. In all of my parodies, I typically create an alternate universe where this new character is fitting into this previously written song, with a different story and different circumstances. I aim not to entirely poke fun at the original artist, but always to empathize in some way at least, to find the absurdity, or some human truth, and to relate. I also believe parodies should bring us eagerly back to the original masterpiece with new ears and appreciation. This character I invented for this Nirvana parody was addicted to candy and cigarettes, for instance, whereas Kurt Cobain was addicted to heroin. When I'm acting, I always fully become the character. A "switch" goes off. I fully am there. I feel the pulse. As long as the camera is rolling, It's full force. I am another person. It's more real to me than my daily real life. There is no in between. That is the gift I can offer to any aspiring filmmaker.
Musician / Audio Training
As a graduate with an Audio Engineering and Music Production Certificate from Recording Radio Film Connection in 2022 (Reading, MA), and with a keen sense of hearing for all the fine details of audio, if the opportunity ever appeared, I have well prepared myself for any professional mixing or mastering projects, from alternative rock to hip hop, to audio for cinema. Furthermore, I have experience with personal production of many genres, from pop to alternative rock, to a full scale dance production.
I started playing music as a young teenager, and I am versatile in both guitar and drums, and can play piano intermediately. With my natural ability to play music by ear, it really helps me as a mixing and mastering engineer to hear what sounds best. This can apply with listening to a certain genre to "match" the sound of what the client wants. For example, hip hop has a very crisp and clean sound oftentimes. Its fairly easy for me to mix and master different genres because I have a sharp ear for music and audio.
